E61 w/ 20x9 and 20x10 ET35...need tire size advice

Hey, I'm pretty sure this is my first time posting here...looking for advice on my GF's 535xiT. Car currently has a stock suspension, yet I still had to roll the rear fenders to minimize the rubbing which you can see in the second picture.

Wheels are 20x9 wrapped in 255/35/20 and 20x10 wrapped in 285/30/20, seller said they're all ET35 but I haven't verified. I've bought H&R 1.4 lowering springs w/ links and I'm gonna need to stretch the tires in the rears for sure.

I was looking for advice on a starting point. I've found multiple pics of E61's on 19's and one E61 owner named Oskar said he wrapped his 19's in 235/35/19 (all around even though he's staggered) which is kind of a starting point but then again he's got a 1" smaller wheel and he's on 2" springs. I found a picture of a perfectly stanced E61 w/ an M1/M4 front bumper and it's running 215/35 and 235/35, but once again on 19's.

ugh... please don't stretch 215/235's onto wheels that wide!

I started my e61 wheel fitment journey with a similar setup, but I was running 19" Forgestar F14's. My tires were Bridgestone S04's in 245/35/19 and 285/30/19. They would have fit OK before I installed my KW V3's, but the rear wheel well on the e61's is definitely narrow and 285's really won't fit without a bit of massaging after lowering. When I bought my wheels, I found a brand new set that was apparently drilled and machined for e9x offsets (19x8.5 ET32 and 19x9.5 ET38), but I completely lucked out because it perfectly perfectly centered the tire in the rear after I worked the fenders a little. I later naively bought some 295's thinking that I could push the tire inward with a higher offset wheel after my M5 hub conversion, but I couldn't even fit the bare 295 into the finder liner.

If you really have 35 offsets then you're close to where you want to be. Actually, I'm surprised that the fronts don't rub the front of the fender liner at full lock with that large diameter and width.

Since you're already pushing right up against the the typical rule of 1% match in rolling diameter, you could try 235/265 or 245/275 combinations which would give you about the same diameter match you have now. Also keep in mind that different manufacturers and even different models of tires have very different tread profiles. Some are much more square and other more rounded. I found that a Hankook V12 had a much narrower tread than my Michelins with the same section width.

The cars been parked for a few months and sitting back on stock wheels so I honestly don't recall if the fronts rubbed the liners at all but I think it may have slightly. I'll give your 235/265 a try first because the rubbing on 285's is pretty bad and I haven't even lowered it yet. Thanks for the tip.
