Durability issue with 2006 525xi wheels

I know that if I missed a few more potholes and curbs, I might not be typing this. Since that's not the case, can anyone recommend a cheap but more durable wheel set? One that is tougher than what comes with the car? Thanks.

Came on the car originally or came on the car when you bought it? You're not going to find a more durable wheel than the OEM's that come with BMWs. That said, NO wheel is going to take the kind of punishment that you seem to be doling out. A smaller rim will permit a tire with a higher sidewall, which will cushion the blow and protect the rim somewhat.

If you're looking for cheap + durable, I'd recommend trolling this forum's classifieds and Craigslist for a used set of OEM rims. Just remember that you have an xi car, so not everything will fit. Good luck!

I can only say with certainty the wheels were on it when I bought it. There was 150,000 miles then and now it's at 153,000.
Thanks for the recommendations on wheels. I will be on the hunt online this evening.
I also am going to get an alignment for good measure. From the attached pics, aside from the filth needing to be removed, is there anything that stands out to you guys that is indicative of damage from clipping a curb? I haven't pulled the wheel on other side for comparison yet but the upper arm looks excessively bent to me. Perhaps its designed to have the bend? So far with the spare and new tire, it's hard to say I notice anything "off." From the looks of it though, it may be time for the suspension components to be replaced. Waiting to hear back from mechanic for appointment...

All that I'm saying is if you're not the original owner, the OEM wheels that came with the car could have been replaced many times, and in your case, with inferior wheels. And if they're not stamped "BMW" on the back, they're definitely not original.
