DIY...just bought new snow tires/wheels
I just bought new snow tires and wheels and want to explore doing the swap myself.
I can't find a DIY for it, maybe because it's too simple. I've done lots of tire swaps in the past, but not with BMW's (locking nuts, sensitive to torque, TPMS, etc.)
I don't have a torque wrench nor an impact wrench.. I do have sockets etc. Can I just use sockets or do they have to be tapered? (I have seen that the size is 17mm)
What do I have to consider?
Thanks

You're overthinking this
I've done it with just the lug wrench that comes with the car, lol! No big deal...
You will have to reset the TPMS. Just do it through the iDrive.

Only if you get snow in your area
I actually kept the all-seasons that came with my car for snows (I have an xi) and bought new summer tires and rims. You should be able to pick up a set of used winter tires and wheel packages on this board or on Craigslist for between $500 - $900.
