Looking to get a set of winter/ everyday wheels and don't want to go staggered this time .. wondering if its possible to run 10" wide wheels all around offset is around 38mm? I have oem m5 fenders in front so I'm thinking I could pull it off thanks for the help

I'm no expert at this but that seems a little large. My rears are ET36 and 10" wide and that fits in real nice. The front... I couldn't see that working. I have ET35 up front with 8.5" wide and it sits real nice. To do this from my point of view .. you'd be 3mm different in offset but 38mm different in wheel size. I guess if the M5 fenders are like more than 30mm wider than the stock it could work.

Are the M5 fenders even wider than other e60's?

Part of this depends on what size tires you want to run up front/back.

Getting the same-size wheels/tires may just end up being the worst of both worlds. My guess would be that the ideal wheel size for a same-size setup is going to be less than a 10", too. (unless you're going for the stretch-and-poke look, in which case I'm done here)

Staggered is where it's at, IMO.

I think 10" wide wheels for a winter / everyday setup for an xi is overkill - especially since you are in NY running wide and the required low-low-profile tires over snow and ice + horrible roads is not something I'd favor.
