so you got the staggered set right? 8x19 ET:47 x2 Front, 9.5x19 ET:27 x2 Rear

you must have meant 225

225/40x19 = ~26" OD
255/35x19 = ~26" OD

these are essentially exactly oem so they're fine, but like suggested above, slightly taller tire might be a better choice next time for a 19". something closer to the m5 factory size. however, if you really want that dropped look, then the larger tire and offsets chosen may get tight inside the fender.

Nothing wrong w/ 225/40R19 and 255/35R19. They're perfectly in spec according to the online tire calcs. I'm running the same on my 535xi. 1.42% diff (f) and 1.2% (r).

I was thinking about getting taller sidewalls but than it would actually throw off the speedo.
The other reason i got skinner tires was because i thought wheels were gonna be more flush.
I did not want to rub tires on fenders but wheels are not as flush as I was hoping

good reasons about width. better to be conservative in that area.

fyi, i have heard our speedo is under the actual speed by enough that my oversized tires now reflect an accurate/true speed. also, i get more miles per gallon this way too 3.6% is the calc diff and I do see 3% easily on distance per tank. distance of course on the odometer, is thus also under reported by 3.6% so one must use other methods to compute the distance for accuracy, but % apply across the board to fuel mpg, OD, etc.

where did you get the wheels and if you don't mind... $$$ ?

BMW did that on purpose. You can code it out using NCS Expert if desired.

of course it was on purpose. it's not like they built 1000's of cars and later said "oops"

my audi is the same way, but similarly i have one size up on it too. good to know about the coding but mine is accurate now which i prefer.

Looking at a set of BBS LM's...

Front: 19" X 8.5" ET35
Rear: 19" X 9.5" ET35

Current tires mounted though are 235/35/19 front, and 265/35/19 rear... overall tire diameter will be slightly smaller than stock. What do you guys think? I plan on lowering on KW3's... stretched tire might give me more clearance to slam it?

Looking for opinions...

adding all 3 of those extremes is not going to work out well. mine are flush with et 29, 8.5, and stock fender gap.
