530Xi fitment
Okay so I am confussed with all the info I am reading on the net. I have a 2006 530xI 6 speed. I have Style 135 wheels with an offset of 43 square. My dilemma is I got a line on a set of Style 135's square with an offset of 20. I am told by the seller that they came off a 2008 535Xi he traded in and that they will also fit a 2006 530XIT. I wanna pull the trigger on this wheel set but not sure if it will work on my car.Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Ted

Fairly confident that for the e60's, all xi (awd) models have an offset of 43, while all i (2wd) models have an offset of 20.
Methinks the seller may be mistaken. I know from personal experience that you cannot put xi rims on a non-xi car (the fronts will press up against the strut tower and not spin). I have not personally tired the reverse (putting non-xi rims on an xi car), but I'm assuming there would some some type of fittment issue. |
Search for the xi Wheels/Rims posts. This topic has been discussed a lot. Actually most "high" offsets will work OK for an e60 xi. I ran 18" CSL reps with 35 offsets and 245/40x18" with no problem. In fact, shop carefully because some 3'er series wheels have high offsets that will work fine. Centerbores are another concern. Some wheels require hub adapters to fit properly.
See, there are lots of things to consider - not all wheels are created equally and not all sellers really really really know what they're talking about!! Buyer beware. |

Buyer beware. www.willtheyfit.com All that said. Still looking for a set of Style 135's 18X8 square with an ET of 43. |
depending on the dimensions of the wheel, the smallest offset we've put on an XI is in the low to mid 30s.

Correct. My brother the previous owner swapped out his snow tires for three seasons on the original set therefore I am looking for another set of these rims for the summer. Ted

May I make a suggestion?

M5-Style 166 replicas Style 135 replicas Although the 166's are listed as staggered, they'll sell them to you as a square setup. That's what I have. The others are a little different, but still sharp looking. OEMWheelsPlus is a good outfit and I'm very happy with the quality - going on two years now. |

May I suggest that you perhaps stay within the same style but get a slightly different look for the main season?
