Default 19" Style 95 wheels on an E61

Hello all, I am new to this forum. Just bought an E61 530d. First thing is to upgrade the factory wheels 7.5x17 with 225/50/17 tyres to 19". After looking around the forum, I set my mind on the 19" Style 95 staggered wheels. I am aware that various members of the forum went for this setting on their E61, and I'd be most grateful for some advice:

tyres: the recommended size from various members suggests 245/35/19 for the front and 275/30/19 for the rear. I couldn't work out from photos on this forum for sure if the recommended tyres are actually wide enough for the wheels. I would like the side wall of the tyres look flash, rather than the wheels fully exposed without protection - can't be good with millions of potholes on the roads. Anyone with the same wheels has experience with 285/30/19 for the rear, for example? the overall diameter of 285/30/19 fitting would be 653.6 mm, which is actually closer to the factory setting of 656.8 mm, than the 275/30/19 fitting of 647.6 mm.

spacers: I gathered that spacers will be required, but I couldn't work out from various related topics that what size of spacers would be the best solution? good quality spacers seem to be rather expensive, so I'd like to avoid buying the wrong size?

Many thanks for your advice

Frank

Hi Frank and welcome to the forum!

We need to know the ET to understand whether you will need spacers or not. Style 95 is a great looking wheel but not originally for the E6x series, so I'm not sure if the bolt diameter is the same...

thanks for the kind welcome.

Style 95 is for 7-series E65, PCD 5x120, Bore 72.6, both identical to E61. Original wheels (Style 122) have an ET of 20. The Style 95's have an ET of 24.

They are fantastic looking wheels. I've been looking but they command a big price on eBay

By the time i'd managed to sell the original tyres from these wheels, the full set cost me £300 sterling!
