07 530xi tire/pothole thread diff 2/32 too much?

Long story short... hit a pothole and have a bubble.

The set has roughly 7500 miles on them. Fronts are 8/32" and rears are roughly 7/32". It's the front right that needs replacing. New ones are 10/32".

Can I get away with replacing the one front... then rotating the fronts to the rear and rears to the front? or would I need to replace both fronts?

Tires are Continental DWS's. I can get 1 new installed (mounted and balanced) for $175 or have 1 shaved via TireRack for around $200 + whatever it costs for M&B.. probably $20 or so.

Bob, when that happened to me, I just picked up a used tire in the same size with a similar thread pattern on Craigslist for $35. Here in CT, there are also a number of used tire dealers. I'd take a couple of hours and check a couple of places. It might save you a hundred bucks or so.

Tried CL... no luck. I also tried the used places... I'd like to at least get the same tire (DWS)...

Then I guess Tire Rack (also try Tire Buyer.com - free delivery) is your best bet. I wouldn't get the tire shaved, however. Just put on the new tire.
