Guys ... I can't help noticing that some of you have very excessive signatures ... a couple of posts from you in a thread and you are hitting "next page" after every 2 or 3 messages. Some of them are like novels, listing every single car you've ever owned, those you have now, those you want in the future, a few big pictures, a joke or two, some quotes, etc etc.

Any chance some of you could think about shrinking them down a bit? If your signature is consistently longer than the messages you are posting, then you are probably one of the offendors ;)

freed0m,
Don't be such a girly-man. Your sig is fine.

Aw... thanks Vegas

I don't mind the long signatures as much as when a member copies a long post and add "I agree". I like the "fast reply" option, short and sweet. I feel better, thanks.

Ja, I agree :)

But I really mean it, it?s like people who use REPLY TO ALL in e-mail. No need to post the entire post - with 5 huge images - for any reason.

And those that quote un-necessary stuff when posting... especially ones with pictures

I agree but I think the problem with people replying and including the entire post (with pics, etc.) is due to a overall lack of familiarity with the board software. I think many people hit reply under the post instead of using the "fast reply" window or the "add reply" button at the bottom of the thread. (In case you don't believe me, you should see how many people press the "report" button and then type in their reply thinking that it's going to add a reply to the thread!)

Sometimes it's useful to include a quote but it's fairly simple to remove the tag for the attached pictures, etc. Overall though, when compared to other forums, I think we have a great group of people here who eventually follow the lead of the others and figure stuff out quite well.

Being a newbie, now Junior member  I have to agree with Rudy that there definintely is a learning curve. I was inadvertantly guilty of the repost with a one line statement. I find a lot of the information contained within the signatures to be beneficial. I often go to a thread that I know that a member posted to, just to get a nugget of info from their signature.
