OK, so why don't we close all subforums and leave only the main one?
No thats not what I said or ment. I said if the topic is questionable and can go either in the Competition OR General then let the poster decide and make their own judgement. Otherwise if its a clear cut topic that belongs in the Phone or DIY section then of course move it.

But in the case of Vegastrashes post it was not clear cut. He made a good point why it should stay and but you thought otherwise... so since that happened and that thread can be in either section then leave it.

What kept people away from RF? I'm sure some of us know the answer.
Here we can agree to disagree and still be civil about it.
I can tolerate to a certain degree, and if not, I might say/do something that I regret later on.
But... it's all good. Democracy in action!

...
Well, that has nothing to do with this, but that were the trolls. Not moving of posts and not that it was boring.

Hey vegas,

I removed that thread. It belonged in the Competition forum based on what you initially wrote however the thread turned into an argument between you and Iceman which didn't have to be done publicly. Since the thread didn't contain anything but that argument I decided to remove it.

As for threads being moved, it happens daily and everyone accepts it and moves on. It's really up to the discretion of the Admins and the Moderators. The competition forum was created to be the home of threads which compare the E60 to other cars, not only in terms of performance but any other aspect too. Therefore, any E60 vs. XYZ Car threads will be moved there.

We're not here to create conflict, just to run an orderly community.
How about creating a strictly performance-oriented thread with the emphasis on 5-series performance, per se, as well as 5-series performance in relation to other cars. IMO, the Competition Forum far too often contains discussion of other cars and their features, without even mentioning the 5-series, for it to be a reasonable place to house 5-series performance discussions. In general, the Competition forum is a far different creature than one that might deal seriously with 5-series performance.

Exactlly! The Competition forum is more for Stats and figures of other cars, non BMW.

Car XYZ has 400 hp
0 to 60 in 5.2 secs
3900 lbs
Drives well
etc etc

I dont see it as a place to put direct real world comparisons.

My humble opinion is that the Competition forum is a mess right now. So much for cleaning things up.

I am entitiled to an opinion I hope?

Only as long as it is not against policy. Sorry.

Also, I tought we'd WANT the competition in a mess, wouldn't we?

Come on, don't take it so hard.
