Thanks much Rudy. I'll try the procedure the way you explained it. Should work well. My substitute efficiency procedure is to have a bunch of different tabs open--one for each forum I am interested in. I'll see how I like the alternative.

The key is to mark everything as read just after pressing view new posts to be sure a new one doesn't slip by. Many times I'll press the view new button and then press it again and I'll end up seeing a new one pop up...
