Default Best overall turbo kits for 528i

Looking for an affordable turbo kit for my 08 528i. ESS has one for five thousand but I'm not looking to spend that much. Also, what's the average cost of the installation? Thanks

I and others on this forum will tell you that it is just not worth trying to boost performance on 528 and 530 BMW engines. It is what it is. If you truly want performance, consider trading up to a 535 or 550.

I respectfully disagree. I know another guy that put a ESS turbocharger in his even older BMW and he can easily take on m3's. I just need a more affordable option.

Different engine, probably. If you can find a cheaper option, then that makes it worth it, but since there aren't cheaper options, then that makes it "not worth it". Jay didn't say it couldn't be done, just that it wasn't worth the cost and effort.

It was same engine. He's from another group, except he paid 5 thousand for his. I know there's cheaper options with less performance, I'm just trying to talk to BMW enthusiast' to find a well proven suggestion.

You will not supercharge or turbocharge that car for less than 5k, unless you can fabricate everything yourself. Stop deluding yourself if you think there is some magic 2K turbo kit that exists that will suddenly give you 200 extra HP. Sell the car buy a 535i and build from there. You can pick up a used 535i for less than $5k.
