I've been told different things and want the truth. I have a 2008 528i. I wanted to swap the engine from a 535i for the sole purpose of more power. First question, is it reasonably possible? Second, if not, are there any performance upgrades I can add to my car that will make me happy? Thanks.

Not feasible, too much work to make it worthwhile. Sell the car and buy a 535i, I paid $3k for mine that needed some work. The entire wiring harness is different it has different transmission, different diff, you would need a whole parts car to make it work.
