Alarm Sounds 5secs After Trunk Opened
I clearly remember that I could pop the trunk using my key fob and the alarm wouldn't sound. But lately, if I pop the lid and take like 5 seconds or so, the dang alarms sounds. What the heck is going on?!

Keeping the button pressed serves as a panic alarm (e.g. if someone were to attempt a carjacking as you approach your car). Pressing it for just second should be enough to open the trunk. Sounds like your button is getting stuck. Try to gently de-gunk it with a wire or razor blade to see if that solves the problem.

If it's a good key with a good battery 3 seconds is too long. It's not a quick tap it's a press hold 1 second and release. A 3 seconds hold on mine the alarm starts (05 530i).

# 5 loom is the trunk release loom but it has nothing to do with the alarm going off. It would prevent the button from working or the key from opening the trunk
