I think the time has come to part with my beloved E60. I still enjoy the car, but I have one car too many and this is the one that drew shortest straw. I'm asking the forum for some help in pricing the car.

WBANA73504B803952, 2004 530i with a touch less than 130000 on the odometer. I bought it in 2012 with around 95000 on it. Car is very, very clean for it's age. The only mechanical problems that I'm aware of are an AC compressor that's on its last legs. Comfort seats, cold weather package, CCC Idrive. I coded a few things, added AUX. entire front suspension was replaced at 100K. I replaced the PCV valve and hoses, belts, and thermostat. Water pump was replaced with an EMP-Stewart pump. Front brakes are good, rears are new, tires are brand new. DISA valve was upgraded with the German Solutions aluminum valve kit. Transmission solenoids replaced, gearbox has fresh fluid in it.. I basically went through the car when I first got it and took care of all of the E60/M54 achilles heels that I was aware of. OEM M Technic kit, I also recently added a Maxton front lip. It rides on Eibach pro kit springs, Bilstein sports. Wheels are BBS CK Air 2, tires are brand new. It's a killer car, super comfortable and fun to drive. No accidents, non-smoker, clean CARFAX. I actually hate to part with it, but such is life.

I would love some input on what you would actually be willing to pay for this car. Thanks in advance, this forum has been invaluable over the years and is the best E60 forum on the internet in my humble opinion

I'll be a jerk and say it's worth nothing.. ie you'll just have to find the right buyer that wants it. To be fair I might start at 5K and see where it goes. Unfortunately all the extra parts that you have are probably desirable, but the car is simply nothing special. I have an 08 535 myself and there are a million around. The thing is that most people see these old BMW's as money pits, or someone finds a cheap one, can't handle it and throws it out on the market. It drives down the price so that when people look at the model then it's a very low price. Frankly I've seen my year and model go around the 5 or 6K range already. You may think N54 motor is more trouble, but more power. To boot the 08 is the LCI model so there are improvements... still the car isn't worth any different.

I'd just hang onto the car unless you know someone that will value it for what it is and give you a decent dollar. I know if someone offered me 10K for what I have now as it stands I'd take it and go buy myself a new toy. I am literally driving my own car until something big breaks at this point and then I'll pull the trigger on something much newer.

Maybe go to some secondary car dealership and get some quotes, try to walk away with your carfax report. If clean, you can use it to sell privately.

I'll lend a hand here even though I'm selling my own car which is the thread below this one!..

I had a second dealership offer me 9000$ cash for my car. While a lot of people would run with that, I think my car has more value, with brand new tires, brakes, and super low miles it's a good buy. Your car has a boat load of miles, at 130 on the car is getting ready for some big problems, (think suspension bushings, or axles, air conditioning, HVAC, etc...). Also a big downside is that your car is not an LCI and it's 14 years old!!

Like Rice_Rocket said, it's worth whatever someone would pay for it. I've had a few people look at mine, and each one likes it but either low ball me, or do not like the manual transmission. I've asked each one if they'd go for a 535.. Their words not mine are exactly this "More turbos more problems there are better cars just as fast with less complex systems". Also the N52 has been around for over 20 years, the N54 is a weaker block.

Now with the 9000$ price tag in mind, my car is a 2010 LCI Base model with 64k(nearly half the miles of yours and only 8 years old), you have an `04 530 with 130k on the clock, I'd say at 5k you'd be lucky. My personal opnion? More along the lines of $3500-$4000 is probably a 'i want to sell this car' price.

Thanks for the input everyone. NADA high retail is 5625.00. I think at this point I'd be happy with 5K, and I think I can actually make it happen.

Good luck, at that price, it even makes me consider.. I wish it was xi and LCI.

People will know to bargain your price. 130k miles is danger, maybe youll find someone who knows what they are doing. Otherwise you will most likely need a buyer who does not know what they are doing, and simply thinks its a great deal for a BMW.
