My Ride: 2004 E60 530i (M54) with 6HP19 auto transmission
Model Year: 2004
Engine: M54
E60 530i (M54) 6HP19
I recently bought a E60, and the previous owner had done some repairs on the transmission. After I bought the vehicle it wasn't running fine, so I took it back to him,
he took it to his mechanic, them brought it back it wasn't fine still and it went on like this for 2 months, now the car is on slip mode. (6HP19)
Am looking into getting another gearbox, but not sure if 6HP19 from E90 fits on E60!!!
Please advise me, a way forward, I didn't even drive this car for 2 days consecutive, but owned it for 4 months.
Thank you

Hello and welcome to BMW's transmission
Your experience is not isolated to you but to many/ most E60 owners if they have their car long enough
I bought my car knowing it was faulty and was at first ready to replace the transmission
But thanks to wonderful people and advice on this site I realized it was simply the valve body solenoids
I fitted a full set of solenoids and filter and fluid and never had another piece
Of trouble since
Please read KylieB site

Everyone will help
You can fix it yourself more than likely
