My Ride: 550i Manual Sport
Model Year: 2007
Engine: 4.8 L N62 V8
Engine Thermostat Failure
"Service Engine Soon" light came on a few days ago. Took the car to the mechanic and he says the Engine Thermostat needs to be replaced for $411 along with a hose. He says i run the risk of overheating my engine at anytime.
Has anyone experienced this?

Ah, yeah! Maybe 40 years ago with another car. But what your mechanic is telling you is no lie. You might want to get a couple of different quotes, but have it done.
