Default Tighten Gas Cap warning message

After noticing this message few times (once a week in average) replaced the gas tank cap with a brand new one and after a month thinking this was resolved the same message again today.
What else to look for here?

Leaky carbon canister or pump maybe.

Part of the emissions testing process where the fuel tank is pressurized periodically. If the gas cap is open then it wont pressurize. If there is a real leak in the system - same message. If the pump/testing process is faulty then same message.

These parts are under the car near the fuel tank and exhaust.

Checked at local shop and this is the code I got:
2A15 - Fuel tank ventilation system, purge air system minor leak

Cleared the code but most likely this will come back again.
Gas tank cap possibility has been eliminated as it was replaced with a new part.

Right. Will probably come back.

Problem will be in the carbon tank, pump, piping in between. Something that is not holding pressure during the test.

These are not expensive parts and can be replaced pretty easily. The bigger problem will be trying to figure what exactly is leaky.

I had the same issue and replaced my cap as well. It turned out to be the DMTL Pump. I replaced it and it never came back.

Where is this located and is the DMTL pump the same as fuel ventilation pump?

Default 2A15 - Fuel tank ventilation system, purge air system minor leak

According to the shop manager the part that is causing this exact error 2A15 is located in front of the engine, see the attached pictures.

Ha! So much for being under the car like I said.

However... You didn't say what car you have but I didn't ask either

It is 2008 E60 550i
So the exact name of the part is Fuel tank ventilation valve with pipe p/n 1 on the diagram.
Has anyone done this, how complicated is to replace?

From your photo looks pretty easy.

1) Remove the plastic intake pipe and maybe the engine cover
2) The valve is mounted with a couple screws to the bracket, has an incoming and outgoing hose with squeeze clamp and a snap-in electrical connector.
