I just picked up a pair of kicker rmb 8's, which are the one before the ssmb 8's. There are acutally apile of other options out there depending on what you want to spend.

Here's a question and I'm new to the forum, if you had about $1,000 to spend on audio for an '07 530i non logic, what would you do. Recommendations?
I'm following almost the same specs as you are with almost the same budget. I'm getting the following:
1 x JL Audio XD600/6 AMP
1 x JL Audio XD-ACS60 AMP Install kit
1 x Dynamat 11101 sound matting
4 x JL Audio XD-CLRAIC2-SW RCA - Speaker cables
2 x Kicker SSMB8 or Rainbow X-Plain W200 underseat woofers
1 x Technic custom extension cable CIC output (4 channels and one remote turn on wire) with speaker inputs
1 x Technic custom rear OEM Amp harness for the woofer interface
2 x jtsheri custom woofer spacers
From there you could think of door-board speakers, and changing rear speakers also...There are some great audio installs in the forums. Just use the search. Here is a link to the audio install I was originally going to complete but cash flow became an issue last year:

I'm from Brampton by the way over here in Florida, wish I was up there I need car referrals first so I can just go to one guy/shop etc., for most of these.
