Can you swap the ballast and see if that's the case?

+1. Swap the ballast out to see if that's the problem first before proceeding to buy anything. 2004 is D2S. Make sure u get OEM D2S ballasts. Get it from BMW but if it's too expensive, u can roll the dice and get a used BMW D2S ballast off ebay.

ya ill swap the ballast out this weekend, I've been driving with the orions and angel eyes at night haha

I have been buying many ballasts off of Ebay and have never had a problem. D2S is what you need.

I confirmed it was indeed the ballast, I haven't ordered yet, just checking if anyone may have a spare one for sale.
