looking for some mods to do.. so anyone have a intake kit for sale for my 2005 530i? looking around the forums so i guess im looking for a afe cold air intake kit or some thing like that.

aFe kits are proven to LOSE power, not gain it. If you want one I am sure Trinity Autosport or RPI might be able to give you one for free, but if you want an effective mod you'll need the RPI scoop and BMC filter that Trinity sells (since they stopped carrying the aFe junk).

thanks John

+1 the best intake setup is utilizing the stock airbox with the RPI ram air scoop. the scoop alone on the dyno yields a gain of 5-7hp to the wheels.

What about a BMS Power box / sprint booster? Are they the same and what can be gained using that/those in conjunction with the RPI Scoop?

As far as I know both are designed to remap throttle response. BMS claims an increase of up to 10 HP/10 TQ with their remap of the throttle and reaction time, while sprint booster claims no HP gains.
