My Ride: 2012 535i M-Sport
I will be giving my car to the mrs soon, and she hates the Magnaflow set-up I installed. I seem to have every other stock nut and bolt from retrofits, but I tossed the muffler.
So I propose two options:
1) You sell me your complete or axle back stock 550i (545i?) exhaust for a fair price and I come pick it up.
2) You and I trade exhaust systems and I pay for the labor (at a shop near Studio City, Ca.).
The stock exhaust was cut off right after the cats where the two pipes bolt to a bracket near the transmission. From there I used a two-into-one magnaflow and ran 3 inch pipe to a long 3 inch resonator. From there 3 inch pipe bends to the back where another 1-into-2 magnaflow keeps things civilized. The whole operation is topped off with a pair of chrome tips with a staggered fitment.
The system sounds GREAT when you start it up, idles quiet - but you do hear it when you drive in lower speeds. On the freeway you wont hear it unless you gun it.
Please don't ask why I did the exhaust this way, I went into this with no knowledge of what would work/sound good. 3 versions of exhaust and $1000 later I was happy. Should have gone RPI to begin with, but oh well.
I am not qualified to tell you if I gained power, the car has always felt fast and sure didn't get slower when I did this.
But please note that the purpose of this ad is not necessarily to sell you on my exhaust, it is to buy your old/unused one. If no one trades with me I will donate this system to the dumpster.
