My recently acquired 2006 interlagos M5
I'm an avid BMW fan as I already own an E46 M3 6mt, as well as E39 M5. However, I recently picked up a 2006 Interlagos on Black SMG M5 with only 50k miles on the clock. This car belonged to my coworker who unfortunately had an accident and the at was totaled by insurance and now has a salvage title. Everything works flawless and the interior still smells absolutely brand new. The damage is entirely limited to just the passenger two doors, B-pillar, and a few dings in the 1/4 panel. I have the car in storage but can drive it around just fine as-is. The plan is to part it out right now. I have thought about rebuilding it but ultimately I just have no need for a third M-car. It's a shame as this thing seriously is as mint as they come.

I'm an appraiser for an insurance company.
they totalled that car out for just that amount of damage? doesn't make sense just by looking at the photos. did the right side curtain airbag deploy?

Side curtain and front passengers door airbag. The rear door didn't have an airbag in it for some odd reason. The hood lines are fine, the roofline looks perfect, even the rear wheel has only a few very very small superficial scuffs. The BST went off so they said "the engine wasn't running" (I knew the engine was running after the accident as my coworker told me so and said he had to shut it off afterwards) and the front upper control arm the the rear passenger side was buckled but I replaced that first just to get the car rolling.
Fwiw the adjuster was pushing very hard to not have it totaled but in the end it was. My coworker was told by the adjuster that the airbags were quoted as a $6-7000 repair.
