I have a very,very rare complete M5/M6 steering wheel with ///tri-color stitching made for our pre-09/2005 E60/E61/E63 BMW's. Some of you may question that how is this from a pre-09/2005 M5/M6 when they started production in 2006. Well, I was told that BMW had used this style steering wheel mount in the early production of the M5/M6's. This steering wheel can not be bought from your local dealer, as it is now discontinued. The steering wheel is in great condition. The leather smells very, very new. To be real honest, it makes my car smell of very new leather. Every time I get out of the car after driving, my hands smell as if I braid cattle whips for a living. 
. The feel is more luxurious then the standard and M sports. Not sure what kind of leather it is wrapped in, but it's vey soft to the touch. Definitely not the same leather that my car came equipped with. There are no rips or tears in the leather, but there is a light indentation at the Ten O'clock position. (Shown in pic below) This indentation should disappear over time and use. The only place that I can find this steering wheel at is on Ebay. It is sold by Roveractive for $899.95 plus $29.95 for shipping. Please note that this price on Ebay is just for the bare bone M5/M6 steering wheel. No wire loom, Mounting plate, MFL buttons, lighted rocker paddle shifters, M-Trim, or airbag.
To give you a rough estimate of what a complete M5/M6 steering wheel would cost you...
-Bare steering wheel=$929.80 (This price is for the pre 09/2005 version, but lets just price it for the common post 09/2005 one at $799.14, Price from www.realoem.com)
-2 MFL Multifunction control buttons for left and right side=$200.00
-2 Lighted Rocker Paddle shifters= $600.00
-Mounting plate=$28.74
-Steering wheel wire set=$28.00 from Garri Romani
-M-Trim= $100.00
-Used air bag= $550.00
Total=$2305.88
I had this mounted in my car for two days. The reason why I am selling it is because I plan to use this money towards something special for my lady.
I am asking $1500 shipped.
Lets cut to the chase! Here are the pics.
Here's the pic showing the indentation.
The airbag that is mounted in the steering wheel is made for the post 09/2005 models, but I have retrofitted it to fit the pre-09/2005 SW. Retrofit called for minor adjustments, and is fully functional.
