Been seeing lots of people on the subway 'round NYC with these. How'd they sound? Full range or more like hip-hop/lounge/house music type of phones?

i hear from friends that the sound is amazing. but the styling is a bit too ostentatious for me personally.
looks like something a pro basketball player would wear on his head....not a junior marketing exec. but hey, im a fool for caring what they look like instead of only being concerned with how good the sound!
