Spider tuning box for the 520d 177bhp version.

These are now ?450 new, they are adaptive and hold fuel back when crusining and switch when you bury the throttle.

Was put on a rolling road and saw a 40bhp increase over stock, even the remapper was impressed with this unit.

This particular one I used from a week after picking the car up until I sold it 2 weeks ago.

No side effects at all.

I usually go for a remap, but sold my 335i just before a trip to France, Switzerland and Italy, so we had to take my wifes 120d. I tried to get the tuners out but none could do it that week and I really wanted to pep the little 120d up a little.
So I ordered the Spider box for it and did 3000 miles in 3 weeks, I was seriously impressed by it, it not only transformed the performance but it also increased consumption from 33mpg to 38mpg (this was a 163bhp auto).
When we swapped her 120d for a 320d (177bhp version) the first thing I did was order another box.

It has kmocked a second off the 0-60mph time and the little 320d could now keep up with 330d's and A6 3.0tdi's too. helps being a lighter engine in there!
The consumption is pretty much the same with and without the box on the 177bhp version though, no real improvement like on the 163bhp version, although there are jumpers inside the unit, by deafult it is around 205bhp but you can up that to around 212bhp if you set it on the highest one, at that point you may increase consumption a bit!! If you set it back to say 200bhp though it may reduce consumption a bit?

I had it second from the top.
I know someone else who left it on default and the rolling road gave 205bhp.

Did you manage to sell the spider tuning box for the 520d(177), i'm in the market for one as i have 520d on its way. How was it on the car as i'm currently in a 330d(E90) and think the 5 may need a bit more oomph. Any negative side effects, and are the warranties transferrable?
