The Pilot Sport A/S sounds like the tire for me. I do need to confirm they won't hurt the lease return next year.

Great article. Confirms why I go performance winter tires in the winter. UHP A/S tires can be outstanding handlers in dry weather but you would not want to be caught in snow with them. The Dunlop WinterSport M3s and D3s are in the samer "performance winter" class as the tested Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3. They deliver excellent dry weather handling and still deliver in the snow in all but the worst conditions. For NYC winters, the "performance winter" class works for me. If I lived in Vermont, I'd bite the bullet and get the "snow and ice" tires.
