What Car E60 test with A6, Eclass and new Lexus

My Ride: 535D Sport Auto
Oh dear for the rest of the E60 wannabe's, we win again. The new 3.0 litre petrol blows them away in terms of performance, handling, refinement, low/high speed ride, rear leg room & general interior space, leasing and emmisions.
Downside - I drive and low quality plastics - E60 in test does look like a pre-week 9 model without the upgraded plastics.
Love the result considering the Lexus and A6 came out after the E60 and the E class has been recently revamped.
The featured E60 was a 530i M sport in Mystic blue and looks fantastic in the mag BTW.

didnt know there has been an upgrade of the interior plastics. Is it something major?

They put some Ruthenium inserts into the vent contols too.

[/quote]Actually (at least) the US 545s have those upgrades except the ruthenium vent controls on pre-week 9 2005s. In my opinion the upgrades actually WORK, especially in black. I have auburn with the upgraded trim in black, and the quality/feel is as good as the E39's or the E65's.
When the e60 first came out, I was also disappointed with the quality of the plastics. However, the upgraded trim and particularly the addition of the wood trim in the center console below the climate controls has completely transformed the feel of the cabin. Funny, how minimal tweaking can accomplish that. If only they would have done it at launch.
