Because "Going Green" is a vast industry that many corporations and businesses depend on. Those Companies simply didn't exist a few years ago and now what we have is this enormous movement that on the surface seems to be a good idea, but is riddled with faulty science and exudes the dogma of "the ends justify the means" so if they lie about how harmful cars are, if it gets you to "Go Green" then it didn't matter it was based on bullshit.

There logic to include the M5/M6 and not others doesn't make sense. They are as small in sales as the AMG line and are being discontinued soon (at least the M5). I saw this sticker today. Its funny but truely the mentality of the U.S. for sure.

I think my 525i Sport emits quite a bit, as I changed the exhaust to a straight exhaust. I could actually clearly see through my exhaust before the techs cut of and welded it on 
am I correct guys?
In Russia our heavy industry vehicles and garbage waste factories do a lot more harm then any of the 5 cars listed will ever do...

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
I'd say get rid of the M5 from the line up and replace it with a 510.
