I think I can see a solution...

The other interesting thing is that the item that's caused the greatest interest on this forum - i.e. the new auto 'box - is dismissed with a "different, but no better than the current one". Hmmm

This is the 3rd article I have read about a supposed "first drive" (Autocar, Autopista and now Car). However I get the impression that none of the magazines has actually driven the car. Most of the articles just describe the new specs (which we all know) but very little if anything on the actual driving experience!

The article from "Car," linked above, speaks of testing out the new stop-and-go active cruise system in Lisbon traffic so it's likely they tested one.

I'm not too impressed with the rest of the article though -- especially the part where they say that the paddles on the sport automatic are the first "paddles behind the wheel for the first time on a non-M 5-series." Have they no clue about the SMG? (Don't even get me started about the way the paddles are setup -- push/pull vs. right up, left down...)

hmm, maybe smg was never offered in the uk...?
