I saw these last year. The idea is great, but they would definitely have to make them with normal sidewalls. If they do that, they'll sell.

They're not stupid. They would definitely sell them with sidewalls. These early models are shown without sidewalls to illustrate what's going on inside. (I hope)

Why did you now scale down the pics, no reason to post 1+ MB pictures!
At that pixel size (X x Y) they should be 250kb at the most.



But yes, IMHO Michelin has always been a leader in tires and I expect them to play quick catchup in this market.

Sorry, the pictures were .bmp files. I convert them to .jpg file, the file size is much smaller now.

That's friggen Awesome! They would be TRUE RUN FLAT TIRES! WTH am I talking about, those will never be Flat!

Ps. Agree on the need for sidewall. They do look Ugly as hell

I hope they put the sidewalls on production, otherwise good luck with cleaning those tires. I think they will be extreamly expensive.

My Ride: 2006 550i Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, Premium Sound Package, Comfort Access, Xenon Headlights, Adaptive Headlight Control, Navigation System, Steptronic Transmission. Silver Gray Metallic with Gray Leather. Added Red rear reflectors. Swapped stock Style 124 wheels and Bridgestone run-flat tires for BMW Style 125 5-Double Spoke wheels, 8" x 19" front, 9.5" x 19" rear with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, 245/40YR-19 front and 275/30YR-19 rear.

Functionally they are probably way better than current run-flats, but the aesthetics will definitely need some work.

They are heaviers since they used rubber to hold up the tires instead of "air."
