Nice J, great reading and thanx for the vids. New features, screen, menu and controls sound great. "The CIC comes with a hard drive that supports maps, contacts, music, and more and it starts up faster." Nice....

As always, Thank you for sharing

Ok it does look good! As an old networking guy, when r we going to start hackin' into this systems.

Nice review as usual, Jonathan. I have to say that does look very good - much better than the current system. I've always felt that iDrive was an example of great innovation derailed by poor execution, and it looks like the new version should address most of the complaints and frustrations.

Thanks, I enjoyed that :D

hmm i like old one better..

honestly i dont know how i would feel with a small idrive controller with bunch of buttons. I feel like we are going after what Audi did...

The new idrive looks to be a giant step forward. I still believe touch screen is the way to go.

For ease of use and ease of entry I have to agree. Absent voice control, there's no faster way to input destinations.

That said, I prefer my TomTom 920 T to any of the three factory systems we have in our current cars at home. I'd love one of the major manufacturers to just bite the bullet and find a way to integrate the TomTom or Garmin features and interface into their factory offering. It really is so much better.

+1, was using my cousins touch screen interface in his RR, so nice and easy to navigate thru
