If you are getting a 2009 5er, you will get a terrific new feature that lets you send locations to your car from your browser.
Full story here.
The new MyInfo feature has started to make its way into all new BMWs (except the X3) with the start of the 2009 model year. The X6 received this feature (along with a new GSM-based telematics unit) in April, but all other models had to wait until the new model year; then they, too, started to receive the new telematics unit (older units were CDMA).

Yep.
Nice feature.
We have that in Germany allready and it works pretty good.
We also have a website where we can log in and configure any nav route (navteq's data is available on that site) and send it to the cra, plus we can send text messages to the car and phone numbers.
Pretty cool service.

We can send text messages and phone numbers to the car also. If you looked at the article, I included a text message on one of the screen shots.

I enabled this a few weeks ago through the online registration, it works really well!
That shot of the messages in the inbox is exactly what I see, makes inputting a destination a lot easier

Is there going to be a firmware update for our E60's to get this feature? Or this is only available on new TCUs in the 2009 cars?
