As technologial advances are made in fabrication, manufacturing, and assebly, the need for humans decline.

Sound fiscal management , returns have not been keeping analysts and shareholders happy for some time .

I don't see the problem, the auto industry employment levels move up/down regularily. Sometimes less humans are required to run the more sophisticated machinery.

All large companies have inefficiencies, especially European ones. This is juts normal leaning out of a BIG company

When Dr Reithofen came to power he ordered a thorough and comprehensive analysis on how things were made; processes, organisation, It systems. All were scrutinized. One of the things that came out of the analysis was the possiblity to cut some jobs. Sounds fine to me.
