I don't see this as a bad thing, if every company develops it's own version, it will make it harder to fully implement as all of them might have different of achieving the same solution. As the good old saying goes "2 heads are better than 1" but then also, "Too many cooks spoil the broth", we can just hope the solution falls somewhere in between the 2 statements, lol.

My Ride: E61 525iA Build 2004/08. "Safirschwartz Metallic". Navi Pro, Adaptive Headlights, Bi-Xenon, Panorama Sunroof etc... CIP 18.00.01 (No noticed bug)
I beleive this is good as long as they not put GM engines in Bimmers...

I want a PRIUS! Thinking about trading in the 545i...
Knock GM if you must, but they currently have a fleet of hydrogen vehicles in Washington DC for testing. I know this article was about hybrids but they've got some skills in alternative powerplants.

[/quote]Not my meaning to knock GM, but any "outside" engine would misfit a Bimmer! It's the charasteristic sound I beleive... (One "vintage" BMW V12 was used in Rolls Royce, but it was reprogrammed in order *not* to give that wonderful sound).
