The Automotive News (2/20 ed) says a J.D. Powers and Assoc. survey ranks BMW's web site 5th in user friendliness among the top 10. It was highest of Euro manufacturers, with Saab the only other, in 7th place. Ahead of BMW were 1) Lexus, 2) Pontiac and Suzuki tied, 4) Hummer.

Kia tied BMW at 5 then Saab, Mazda, Subaru and Mercury. VW finished at the bottom of all surveryed.

Cheers,

Interesting, I have found that their website has provided more errors lately. Especially when trying to build a car.. dunno if it is just me.

The UK site will not recognise the 535D in it's car builder.

Must have had poor competition !

I think the site is pretty decent. But, I hate all the animation you have to wait through to get down to business. I just click the first thing possible to escape the web maven's clutches.

The UK site configurator does not list all the options available so be wary of using it to order a car by faxing / emailing to UK dealer as I did.
These sites are great for general information but hind sight suggests always discuss with dealer within dealers office.

So so? 5th best out of 37 is not bad in my book. Here's a link to a post from last month with the press release.

The one thing I wish the owner's web site had was a copy of the 2006 owner's manual for the E60. Way to go BMW NA -you are manufacturing 2007s right now and the most current manual you have available online is for 2005. Thanks.
