noticed in this issue of european car, there's an article about the 2006 330i, same engine as the 530i. the baseline power given is 214.3 whp @ 6700 rpm and 192.2 wheel lb-ft torque @ 4100 rpm.

with an afe intake, the gain is .5 hp and 3 lb-ft torque. not much right? with a supersprint exhaust, muffler and resonator, they showed that the 330 actually lost power to 207.7 whp and 188.2 wheel lb-ft torque.

I saw that same article. That does to show you that not all mods are additive. Some, are parasitic. And it would appear that an aftermarket exhaust did just that. :ermm:

I should clarify that:

1) They think the AFE intake has room for more power when more power mods are added

2) They think the exhaust might produce better gains if it was used with Supersprint's complete header and cat system.
