My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.
I know, I know, ask and X5 forum. I am.
But, I thought I query my friends on the E60 forum to see if anybody knows the expected discount (or percentage above invoice), one should expect on a 2007 X5 4.4l.
I am doing some research for a friend.
Thanks

I think they cut the 4.4L.

BMW dropped the 4.4L on the new X5's. The only engine options are the 3.0L 6-cyl. and the 4.8L 8-cyl. I haven't heard about any discounts. The people over at x5world.com might have a better idea.

My Ride: 2008 Silverstone II E60 M5 2012 E70 AW X5 50i Sport w/ LCI Aero Kit and Rocker Panels
I went into my dealership recently to look at the 4.8 for the wife. We were looking to lease, not to buy. As of right now, there are no lease programs on the X5. The dealers are so pissed right now b/c 9 out of 10 customers that walk in are looking to lease. All of them end up walking out when they hear the numbers. I had the dealer crunch some numbers for me and here's what I got... With a fully loaded 4.8 w/ OEM 20" wheels and $0 down, I was looking at $1327/month including taxes. He even used the invoice price for the calculation (Approx. $70K), knowing the payment would STILL be ridiculous. The MF is around .00360 right now. They said within the next 2-3 months, there should be a good lease program. As for buying, they were almost willing to offer $500 over invoice if I would commit to an order that day. That's how desperate they were.

I fear BMW will have to own up to the lease program as they will get flooded with used cars in the next few years.
Audi to protect its dealer profitability has cooled on Lease supports but it seems to not affect them all too much. Less cars are moved but greater profits. The dealers after building nice new showrooms were getting killed.
ANd with the reduced maintenence might the quality of used cars decline?
BMW's tend to be a bit over priced but the lease programs make up for it.

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
The new E70 X5 comes with a 4.8 V8 and the very fine 3.0 litre 272 hp R6, both auto only.
For us in Europe the 3.0d is the most interesting engine, and a superiour one.
BMW is the most earning/profitable car manufacturer today and by far!
For what else brand cars would people stand in a queue!
The new E60 535i, the E92/93 335i and also the E70...
I guess the bosses of GM, Ford and DaimlerMoPar are crying....
