I love my 530i but I have the need... the need for 420 bhp / 313 KW @ 8300 rpm.

In the red corner

? "The daddy of all performance saloons, you?ll never be disappointed with a BMW M3. They combine the performance of a supercar, the practicality of a saloon and the fun-factor of a trip to Alton Towers while on a cocaine binge. Apparently."

- Top Gear

In the blue corner

? - USD165K + The Mrs. Going .......

What do you guys think??

We get our cars relatively cheap here in the US. That's a lot of money, but it is what it is. If you can swing it, go for it. You know you won't be disappointed in the performance. Considering the local road conditions, do you think it'll have much utility, though? Is there a local track you can use?

The M3 is a spectacular car, but $165K good? I don't think so. In the US we must be really fortunate, because for that price you can buy 2 M3's here.

We really are fortunate in the US in this regard. Most places I travel an e60 is well north of $100K, and usually with a smaller engine and fewer options. We make up for it by paying $500 for a prescription medication that costs $5 everywhere else in the world.

Agreed Calvin, we are both fortunate and unfortunate to live here. We can't provide you health care - but look WE HAVE SPINNING RIMS!!!!
