Since this is my BMW and I have developed a growing appreciation for them, I saw one today that made me drool. I have no idea what it was, but it had a couple of distinguishing characteristics:
1) "m" badge on the back
2) 2 doors (not M3 or the Z series M)
3) Very sleek design
4) Pop up headlights
By the overall look I am guessign it is a model that is at least 7 years old, but any information you could provide on it, I would be intereseted to know. There was no other badging on this particular car.

M1 maybe? Much older than 7 years but any other "M" with flip-up lights would be a fake, I think...
I think the M Coupe had only an M badge on the back but it didn't have flip-up lights...
Usually, the presence of only an "M" is just someone who debadged some other car and stuck the M there to be cool.

It's the one that Rudy posted the picture of. SWEET! What was the engine and how much did it cost, how old is that thing? Jim, I saw the one I am talking about in on Southlake Blvd, and I drooled all the way home.

Ignore me, I just googled M1 and found out all I needed to know (except how to convince my wife I need one).

Stevens Creek BMW had an M1 on display a while back (perhaps still do), and it was a very nice ride!

My Ride: 545i Sport Auto (see sig)
What a fantastic car... never heard of the M1 until this thread. Reminds a bit of the styling on the new Ford GT (of all things). Looks like low-mileage M1s are going for around $100k.
