Hi all,

Haven't posted here in a while, but I need some advice please.

As some of you know we have 54-plated (late 2004) X3 3.0i with a lot of options.
If I remember correctly we paid about GBP 35,000 for it, will probably get about 23.000 back.

Since the dog has gone and I sold the horsebox, there is not much use for it anymore. With the sun coming out, my wife thought it might be nice to trade it in for a used convertible.

I have never really looked into the Z4, only test-driven one once. The ride seems extremely hard, but it handled well.
What is there to look out for, and does anybody have any long term experience with it.
What options do I need etc.

Thanks boys and girls, looking forward to your reactions..

Fred.

Hello Fred! Long time no see!

You can't get much lower in BMW range. I mean lower to the ground! Isn't UK promiced lans of open tops? Go a head and buy Z4. It's lighter to push on the sand.

Should have seen that sand thing coming.

Thanks for the reactions anyway, nice to see this forum is still alive.

The 630Ci isn't an option at the moment, too expensive and very few on offer. The dog went into showbiz and is not coming back ( I know, gotta change the pic.).
not many problems with the X3. I don't have to tell you guys; every now and then you want something new..
Still got the e60 anyway, as a family car..

My salesrep is backon friday. Will ask for one for the weekend and look at the numbers..

Dennis, pm'ed you with my number.

You have to get rid of the runflat tyres on the Z4, it is a completely different car when you do.

When you get a trade in price on the X3 put it up on here, you may get someone make you a better offer!?

I know, but they are so rare up in this part of the world as all we have are farms and fields so I thought it may make a change from all the Porsches etc.

I am not really after one really, but I do keep suggesting my wife swaps her Mini for one, that means I can then get whatever I want if I feel the need to change.
It is always worth sticking an advert up though as you mayt get someone offer you a grand more than the dealer has.

Well, we had a brand new Z4 3.0si to play with for a few days, and we both loved it.
That 262 bhp engine is a beauty! And it handles like a go-kart (well, sort of).

I guess it is all a matter of colour and options now.

Let's see. BMW's come in silver (which we already have one car in), black (ditto). 17 shades of grey (neh..), red, bue or white... Don't like white, so I guess red or blue then...
