I can smell the new m3 is preparing to be launched, and they are making final tests and tune-ups. The m3 is not on a clay state...that i can bet on.
1 year or so from now it will be here, and well...if bmw doesn't fuck it up wich in general it doesn't, it will make the world tremble with this new car. (thinking what waves the e46 m3 did when it was revield and tested)

Well somewhere around that figure. Late 2007, and the latest of the latest...early 2008.
And even so, for the car to be launched at that time, it would still require to be far from calay status by now. I can really sens bmw concentrating to get this car out in the best possible shape. After all it's not like they are revealing a normal car like say the 320d or smth. It will be made to last a couple of years 6-7 years or so till they consider making a new m3 or whatever. And if they try that hard, as i think they do, they have to have at least a year at disposal to proper test the car from ALL points of view.

they are already testing the car, yes. But they are not ready, hence another 16-18months. I hope they revise the output of the engine, as they will be blown away by the new clk 63 amg (483bhp)

Hmmm...yes it might be an option to revise the output if they wana match the merc's straight line performance, without any gandjetry that is...A perfected launch control might do, or they can tweak the chassie more, or i dunno, suspension set-up to allow more grip for acceleration,or gear ratios or whatever...they really have the resource to make it as fast as the merc without the increase in sheer output.
On the other hand i have every confidence they will make it faster then the merc on a track. And youc an call me biased but we'll see after all who's better.

yes faster on a truck, but as someone said NOTHING beats cubic inches and the mb has an orgasmic high revving 6.3litre engine... the m3 HAS to be very special

Wait a sec. 6.3 liter?!? v8 or what? And only 480 bhp. The m5's engine has better hp/liter ratio. Anyway...really now i still bealive it will not compare as an overall package whatever superchargers they choose to run on those sky high displacements.
Ohhh i forgot...there is one thing that beats cubic inches...and that's WEIGHT.
Well just have to wait and see the specs...compare them and then test the cars. We'll see after all wich company sells more cars. Bmw or mb. We can talk on this subject forever but for now...we'll ahve to wait.
