I saw him coming out of the Fiz (BMW HQ) and he followed me. See all the test gear he has in the windshield:

Let him overtake me so I could get alongside at the next traffic lights:

This was the best pic I could get. The roundel is masked, as are the light clusters. I'm not sure what it was.

Looks like the current E90 to me; size, shape, mirrors
Maybe just being used to test new developments under the shell?

(They might also be testing the new Magnetic Tow Technology )

I thought it looked like an E90. Maybe it's a facelift (LCI) model. Otherwise, why would they hide the BMW logo and tape off half of the light cluster.

It has the " M - SX ---- " number plate so its one of their R&D / non-production cars. Maybe all development cars get taped to avoid the press (or E60.NET members getting too accurate information on future options/developments?
OK, I'm really guessing here, but I have not read anything in the press about an updated E90 beyond the LCI.

ps. love that high-speed autobahn video in your signature -- I want my car to pull like that above 220... that remap is getting ever closer!

I made a new one today - straight to 258 without having to slow down. I'll see about uploading it later. I'll let you know where I did it. It's a perfect spot for a VMax test when you head to Munich.

It does look like a 3 series test mule, the new 3er should be out in a couple of years, so they DO have to test!

It looks too small to be the new F10, but lots a better than the current E90.
