You will love it. I love mine, even though I got it for my wife. It's a great truck. Did you get the 3.0 or the 4.8?

we went with the 3.0. we looked seriously at the diesel, but she didnt really express any interest. i would have gotten the 4.8, but she'd kill someone in it. she just came from a land rover, so the 3.0 will seem like a ferrari to her. since we were able to order it, i got it exactly the way she wanted.

Congrats your wife will love it. I bought my wife one for Christmas, to replace her Volvo XC 90. She has had it six months now and loves it still, when mamma is happy then the family is happy.

Now I count down to my new 5 in October yeah...

Good man! You'll love the X5, and you will have the same arrangement that many of us have here (E60 and an X5) in the garage! Really the best of both worlds, and it makes for an impressive sight when the garage door opens and your neighbors look in!!

That's great. Yeah, that's the only way to buy a BMW. Custom ordering it is key, especially if you fully load that bad boy up. We ordered ours December 30th and it arrived on February 6th. It was definitely worth the wait. Of all the BMW's I've owned, I don't think I've ever bought one off the floor. They're just too basic and with BMW being all about "a la carte", you have to have it custom built. At least the X5 is made in South Carolina though and not Germany. My E60 took 2 1/2 months. That wait was the worst.

Have you joined X5World (now known as Xoutpost.com)? If not, you should. However, it's not nearly as fun as this forum.

Congrats again. Make sure you post pix when you get it.

the e60 i bought a couple weeks wasnt ordered and i wish it would have been. the offset is that i saved quite a bit of coin by buying it from stock. i didnt have any experience with bmw and didnt even realize how simple the process would be. as a result, i am educated and will order my next one as my car has some things on it i may not have wanted and is missing a few options i would have liked. in fact, i am already begun thinking about going to Germany to pick up an f10 M5 in 2012.

and i certainly will post pics...
