Hi members!

A friend of mine said the new E92 M3 would have the front made of aluminium .
But if so, why the M3 is heavier than the 335i (the V8 engine is only 200 Kg) ?

Thanks, bye!

i believe the story i read in motor trend said that is uses some aluminium, does not specify a complete aluminum front end...also they noted that the front fenders are plastic, and perhaps ths hood? (cant remember) just like on my e63, which should have decreased weight, along with the CFP roof

....the added weight probably has to due with the front end suspension, the larger brakes/calipers, etc , those things needed to slow down the speed demon....perhaps even the tranny, too..
