So my friend is facing a Dilemma. M3 2010 or S5 2010. Both have the same outer and inside interior. Grey outside, red inside.

I told him to go with the M3 as he cannot go through his life without experiencing the "M" POWER.

But I got to admit, that S5 is pretty darn good looking.

And a small question, Do you guys know when will the next generation of 3 series will come out? He doesn't want his car to get outdated 3yrs from now.

What do you guys suggest?

I could be wrong, but I believe the Audi 6 series is getting a full redesign in 2012.

Maybe its just me, but an M3 vs S6 debate seems odd to me. M3 vs S4 or M5 vs S6 seem more common.

I personally would go E60 M5.

If your friend values performance first then it is M3 by a mile. But if luxury and comfort are key, then the S6 wins. Two totally different cars.

He hasn't driven any as both dealers don't have test drives for these type of cars.

Yes, I do know the comparison is different.

And I think the S5 is to be compared with the 650i(if not lesser engine) rather the M5. It doesn't come near the M power engines.

My friend drives now the Mustang GT (40yrs anniversary special) and has a RR Sport Supercharger.

So yes, he does crave for power (but not into racing at all).

Is the M3 comfortable in driving? how about the SMG III ( This question is for marc, so how does it compare in comfort to ur E60? )

I would test drive both. What does he want - smaller and more nimbler or a bit larger with a V10? I think it all depends on the type of driving he does. The A6 line is going to be replaced in 2012 and the 3 series line is due to be replaced in 2014. It is possible that you will not have a new body style S6 until 2013.
