This thread got silly a long time ago...

Alex, Alpina make their own LSD which is an optional extra or retro-fit for the B5 - it's a bit more expensive than the Quaife diff, but of course maintains originality.

When it comes to in-gear acceleration, boys, I think we all know which E60 is the daddy - it ain't a diesel or a V10, nor is it a 545i or 550i. LMAO... ah, like it matters....

And finally, Alex, the Cooper is a nippy little thing, but if you're willing to punt it hard in a big car like an E60, certainly my B5 (and probably also a 550i, M5 or 535d) is quicker - the B5 almost teleports from stoplight to stoplight, if you're in a rush...

With a manual transmission and a good road surface the 0-100 is quite simple .
Anyway, the 0-100 is not so significant: too elements affect the result, like the tire, temperature, humidity, type of transmission, etc. ...
From 100 to 200, instead, no tricks .

So, the M3 would do 11s from 100 to 200 .
Okay, I would like to trust those magazines...

Have you found an M3 to race yet. I would be interested in the results. Check out the test sheet at the bottom of this review. 0-120 mph in 14.3 is not bad I can see it do 124 faster than 15.7.

Here is the C&D track sheet. Like sapkan said above the Autobild numbers 0-200km(0-124mph) in 15.7 doesn't sound impossible. Sounds just about right.

0-60mph 4.3 sec.

0-100mph 9.8 sec.

0-120mph 14.3 sec.

The 0-100 (0-62) is a problem, because they can test cars on the best asphalt (track) . So everyone has his time

Only one thing is certain : from 100 to 200 it needs 11s, that can be done from a 545i-550i .

About the M3 0-60 time, the M3 has an electronic device that helps a lot . As you can see here :

What I mean is that the M3 could be faster than an E60 only on a 0-60 on the track, not on the road in the everyday use .
So .. Nothing special and W the E60!

This is an SMG 650i and does 12s from 100 to 200 . But the steptronic 650i is surely faster

Just answering your question in your original post. You posted "I found something like 15.7 from 0 to 200 kmh (0-125 mph), by Autobild, but it is clearly impossible : the 6MT M3 has very long gears, so it cannot do 15.7s. So, does someone have these times from some road test ?"

From the Car & Driver test its rather apparent it is possible. Thats all, have a nice day.
