What exactly is the new M3's actual hp output?

All the articles until now have stated it would have 420 hp.

Car & Driver states it at 414 hp and the USA BMW website states it at 414 hp also.

Whats the deal, is the U.S. version slower?

Same thing happened to 545i. First it was 333hp, then 325hp.
Take that damned charcoal pre-filter out.

It just might be my next ride . But it'll be a second or later model year. First year model
just has too many quirks.

Hi, the issue here is units. The car has 420 PS which is 414 BHP. A common mistake referring to the PS value as BHP.

PS stands for Pferdest?rken, which is a metric horsepower. To convert from PS to BHP, divide the PS figure by 1.0139.

Cheers, Stewart.

Easy, xexyus. AlexFW can sometimes rub people the wrong way but he does contribute to this forum. I certainly don't want him to leave.

A simple answer like 420ps = 414hp, would have been good Alex. Not your little bitch-ass remarks.

Thanks Stewart.

It was weird, for the last few months on the internet and in magazines I had been reading 420hp, not 420ps. Now past couple weeks I noticed Motor Trend and Car & Driver stated 414hp. It just through me off a little. Thanks for the clarification.
