I posted the other day to see if anyone has recently leased the new X5, my current X5 is coming off lease and I'm trying to get the best deal possible.

Anyone who shopped the car or driven it, I'd love to get your opinions.

I drove it at the BMW performance driving school and was impressed. If you liked your current X5, then I expect you will like the new one. If you plan to stay in X5's, why dont you buy?

I like to change cars every three years, and I find it still cheaper to lease than to buy, also I use my cars for business so there are some benifits.

Hi,

We got our X5 yesterday, and it's great. It has replaced a Volvo XC90 and is so much nicer. Other car is a BMW 530 (E60) and previous car was a BMW 525 (E60) - so any questions you have, fire away.

I'm contemplating on the new X5...So far, I haven't heard many 'good' things about it. Hoping that BMW shakes it out by second year production.

My dealer lent me an 07 4.8 X5 for two weeks prior to the arrival of my 550. I loved it. I own an 05 4.4 X5 which is an awesome ride but the new one is more refined and slightly larger. I definitley would reco another one but I would wait for an 08 . They need to iron out a few kinks. The 4.8 with Sport Package would be my choice .

Good Luck

When you say a 'few kinks' is there anything specific you're referring to? I get real sensitive with my cars and every little creak and rattle bugs the hell out of me.

The latch for the 3rd row seats did not work , stretched cable I think. Split glove box was sticking. Rear door release was difficult to pop..... small stuff, you know, the kind of stuff that makes you nutty. Nothing major just things that need to be tweeked in year 2. I almost always never buy the 1st year production of any new car for all these types of reasons ( actually the sales manager of my dealer says the same thing ), remember the launch of the new style 7 series. They didnt get that thing fixed until the facelift and they lost half the franchise to MB S Series.
Cheers

Yeah...those little kinks in first year production vehicles are annoying. I'm sure BMW will get them worked out by next year so maybe a little test drive woudn't hurt. I was actually really liking the Audi Q7.
