Having just done the UDE (Ultimate Drving Experince) it is fair to say the Infinity needs all the help it can get. The event allowed for side by side driving comparisions of the 330, the G35 and the Audi quattro.

The difference in handling, grip, responsiveness etc, etc, etc. was staggering. If the comparision was truly a fair one, (i.e. all cars were similarly equiped as stated by the BMW reps) the BMW's superiority is unquestionable. There was such a difference between these cars that the cynic in me has to wonder if BMW tampered with the Audi and the Infinity. BMW has far too much to lose to actually do this, so I think it is very unlikely this actually happened.

well how high were they before this??? they take an altima, rebadge it and charge much more $$$ because foolish americans will pay for a nissan renamed 'infiniti' ... excellent marketing, i must admit, even better than BMW NA

...but seriously, what would you expect? they cant win in drivability, but they can win in the numbers game.. and the truth is that BMW should win the numbers game too, they are just fallin behind now-a-days.... and whats worse, imho, is that BMW does have the firepower to compete, but they are mysteriously slow in bringing products/engines to market, esp in the US.... guess that we arent that important even though we are their single largest market

Infiniti must be held in high regard in the States if they can compare their cars to BMW's. In the UK they're known as Nissan (previously Datsun) and make shitty looking cars with little engines and shite plastic interiors. The best model was the QX which looks typically Japanese with a 2.0 litre six cylinder. 0-60 in something like 11seconds. I think they sold about 10 if that.
I hate them. Sorry to people who like them. You have no taste.

its amazing how high they are regarded in the US ... i know many that argue daily that they are better than BMWs, or faster because of the higher numbers on paper, but the bottom line is they are merely Nissans with nicer leather and they are way over priced so the margins are tremedous and they spend the profits on Marketing and its worked...they have somehow convinced the US market that they are in more luxurious than BMWs, which i dont believe is true, but BMWs are about driving first and foremost which they are not.... i tell my friends to enjoy them with a smile on my face ... as i go back to my car

Interesting... how they are using the comparison again. They did this when the 7 series came out. and then after that they just did the stand alone E46 and E83 and now back to comaprison mode again. I guess they do this when a new model is introduced. Where was the E60 UDE?
